Speaking at Gatitu Comprehensive School during the launch of development projects at the institution, the PS said education remains one of the most powerful instruments for unlocking human potential, reducing inequality and securing a prosperous future.

Saying that education is an equalizer, the PS observed that the government is employing the whole-of-government approach including partnering with stakeholders to support reforms targeting the education sector.

While expressing commitment for increased partnerships with Kenya, outgoing Azerbaijan ambassador to Kenya, Sultan Hajiyev said the project was a demonstration of the impact to the school community and its effect in enhancing Kenya’s efforts in improving education standards in the country.

The government of Azerbaijan, through the Azerbaijan International Development Agency, and the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Kenya, and the Chandaria Foundation were among the major partners in the project.

Besides renovation and painting of classes, the support also saw the school supplied with water tanks and a solar powered water pump that will address the challenge of water at the school and neighbouring St. Claire Girls Secondary School and St. Gregory High School.
