KENYA PRISONS SERVICE AMONG EXHIBITORS AT THE NAKURU NATIONAL AGRICULTURAL SHOW

The Kenya Prisons Service is among the about 200 exhibitors at this year’s Nakuru National Agricultural Show.

The event, which runs from 2nd to 6th of July, is expected to showcase a host of new technologies and innovations under the theme Promoting Climate Smart Agriculture and Trade Initiatives for Sustainable Economic Growth.

Speaking during a visit to the KPS stand, State Department for Correctional Services Principal Secretary Dr. Salome Beacco said the innovations and technologies displayed by the Kenya Prisons service highlight the importance of adopting climate-smart initiatives in agriculture and trade, aligning with the national government’s agenda for sustainable economic growth.

Among the innovations on display include smart agriculture, land reclamation techniques, biological pest control and green energy.

Central Rift ASK chairman Dr. Perminus Migwi lauded the Kenya Prisons Service for being a faithful exhibitor at the agricultural trade fair.

The Kenya Prisons Service has entered 12 categories across the various classes available with the exhibitors confident of sweeping the medals on offer.

 They include; The best stand-National government, The best stand that promotes national cohesion and integration, The most striking display of locally manufactured products, The best stand that interprets current show theme, best small trade stand, best real manufacturer stand, best government social functions stand, best stand in youth empowerment and capacity building, best stand women/men activities empowerment capacity building, best stand in display and presentation of security services, best cooperative movement/ SACCO stand, best large trade stand and the best medium trade stand.
